Made a decision

March 7, 2018

I made a decision yesterday. I’m in an AA meeting leading the discussion and we’re talking step 3.  Turning my will and my life over to the care of a “God of my understanding”. That means turning over my thoughts and my actions. I have been in flux for the past few months trying to figure out the difference between my will and God’s will. Its easy to know simple things. Don’t drink. Go to a meeting.

The question is how to turn it over to God. If I am going to be successful, then I have to stop trying to control everything. I have to realize that there are things I can control and then things that I can’t.

As people shared in the meeting, there is a lot of talk about how frustrated we get when we’re stuck in traffic. The guy in the car in front of me, obviously came all the way from Cobb County to get in front of me in traffic and not make the left turn after the light was turning yellow.

Today I left 10 minutes earlier, and they guy from Cobb County was still at home.
